Maryland Crab Soup
Woody's Maryland Crab is made with potatoes, carrots, peas, corn, roasted peppers (although they could be tomatoes), celery, and crab meat.
Good sized crab chunks amongst the strings of meat, which have a very sweet flavor. Good amount of vegetables in the bowl, although it gets a bit heavy on the potato. The amount of spice is pretty light, probably in hopes of letting the flavor of the vegetables and crab shine through.
For a crab house, we had high expectations that unfortunately weren't met. While there was a good amount of crab, and in decent sized chunks, the vegetables didn't taste very fresh. The lack of spice is meant to highlight the crab and vegetables, but when one of the key ingredient groups falls flat in flavor, the rest of the soup suffers. The predominant flavors were potato and crab. Aside from using fresh ingredients, it would also be nice if there was a bit more spice to the soup.
