The Tidewater Grille is located right on the Susquehanna River, complete with outdoor seating overlooking the water, and free boat docking for their customers. No matter where you sit, you'll always have a view of the river, and everything happening in and around it. In fact, this is Havre de Grace's only waterfront restaurant. So seeing as how you can't get any closer to the water, you would hope that they know how to do seafood right. Read on and see if you should drop anchor or set sail for somewhere else!

Cream of Crab Soup

Soup is listed on their menu as a signature blend of crab, cream, and sherry. A must have!

The crab meat in the soup is in fairly large chunks, but tastes meaty and frozen, with a dried-out texture. The broth is kind of bland and not very interesting. There is a slight peppery taste from the spice, but that's about it. No real depth of flavor which makes the soup kind of boring. Consistency of the broth is decent, leaning towards the thicker side of the spectrum.

While the soup gets slightly spicy as you go through it, it is not enough to wow you by the end. The use of tired, frozen crab meat from a seafood house is a major disappointment. In addition to using a bit more spice to take the flavor profile up a notch, using fresh crab meat would make this soup much better.
